Pelvic Health Physiotherapy
Is your pelvic health impacting your quality of life?
Take Control of Your Pelvic Health!
Pelvic health refers to the well-being of the joints, muscles, nerves, tissues, and organs in your pelvic region. We offer specialized physiotherapy for a variety of pelvic floor conditions, including:
Pelvic Pain: A general term encompassing any pain in the pelvic region, which can be caused by various factors including muscle tension, nerve irritation, organ dysfunction, or musculoskeletal imbalances.
Pregnancy-related Pelvic Pain: Pain in the pelvic area during pregnancy, often due to hormonal changes, increased weight, and shifting posture. This can manifest as pain in the lower back, hips, groin, or pubic bone.
Pre- and Postnatal Abdominal Weakness: Diastasis Recti Abdominis (DRA) is the separation of the abdominal muscles during pregnancy, often leading to weakness and instability in the core. This can contribute to back pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, and difficulty with everyday activities.
Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP): A condition where one or more pelvic organs (bladder, uterus, rectum) descend from their normal position and bulge into the vagina. This can cause feelings of pressure, discomfort, and difficulty with bladder or bowel control.
Incontinence: The involuntary leakage of urine or feces. Common types include stress incontinence (leakage with coughing, sneezing, or exertion), urge incontinence (a sudden urge to urinate followed by leakage), and mixed incontinence (a combination of both).
Menopause: The natural decline in reproductive hormones that occurs in women typically between ages 45 and 55. Menopause can cause various pelvic health issues, including vaginal dryness, pain with intercourse, and increased risk of incontinence and prolapse.
Pelvic Concerns in Athletes: Female athletes may experience unique pelvic health challenges due to high-impact activities and repetitive strain. These can include pelvic pain, incontinence, and menstrual irregularities.
Our comprehensive approach, provided in a supportive and compassionate environment by our specially trained pelvic floor physiotherapist, includes:
Thorough assessment to understand your individual needs
Personalized education and self-management strategies to empower you
Effective treatment strategies to address your specific condition
We are committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to help you regain control and improve your quality of life.
